Position: Commercial Banker
General Definition of Position
Under limited supervision, manage and develop a portfolio of commercial/commercial real estate as well as personal banking relationships. The Commercial Banker will play a vital role in the growth and development of commercial banking portfolio and market share in select Minnesota markets. Primary focus is to work collaboratively with internal peers to sell/cross sell banks products, loans, fee income and build deposits. Assists senior-level staff in development of market share. Recommends or approves loans within delegated authority and/or through loan committee within policy.

Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- Increase Bank’s profitability by cultivating new business relationships
- Maintain & develop customer relationships thru new business or review of existing relationships
- Make presentations on loan requests and participate in the bank’s approval process, recommending approval and appropriate structure working closely with loan administration and credit analysis.
- Develop & maintain deposit relationships
- Responsible for annual reviews on loan relationships
- Maintain knowledge of accounting and financial principals, marketing and sales principals, credit analysis, economics, and other bank functions.
- Actively Represent Reliance Bank at Community Events
- Cross-sell all Bank Products
- Participant in Bank Credit Committee
- Participant in Bank Sales Meetings
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent sales skills and abilities
- Knowledge of accounting/finance principals
- Knowledge of bank and credit underwriting
- Strong knowledge of cash flow for complicated credits
- Verbal & written communications skills
- Negotiating and problem-solving skills
Needed Experience:
- 3 to 10 years commercial lending & banking experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field – or equivalent experience
