Our History
On August 13, 2007 Reliance Bank opened its doors to the community of Faribault as a State Chartered, FDIC insured, full-service bank. Staffed with nine experienced bank employees, Reliance set off on a mission to become the best community bank. After its first full year of operation, Reliance Bank was given the coveted Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce “New Business Spotlight” award.
We are well on our way to accomplishing our mission through our efforts to “Redefine Service”. Reliance Bank’s success and pride is evident through growth and increased staffing to meet the banking needs of our customer base.
Today, Reliance Bank is a well-established financial services leader providing a full-service line of personal and business banking products with emphasis on technology and small business relationships. Visit us at our beautiful bank location in Faribault, browse our website or give us a call. It is our mission to make your banking experience efficient, profitable and enjoyable!
Community Involvement
The entire staff at Reliance Bank takes great pride in being involved in community initiatives. This is done in a variety of ways bringing fun and awareness to many causes. Each year since the bank opened, an employee has been involved in the Faribault Future leadership program. This program identifies emerging leaders to develop and broaden their knowledge of the community and inspire them to become leaders. The staff of Reliance Bank also supports many fundraising campaigns and is proud to be a part of community organizations such as the Faribault Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ruth’s House, River Bend Nature Center, Paradise Center for the Arts, Rotary and Sertoma. Thanks for allowing us to help make our community a better place to live and work.
Basic Blessings Backpack Program
The staff of Reliance Bank and MRG Tool and Die set out to bridge a gap for children who strongly rely on the school meal program to provide their primary meal. In most circumstances when school is not in session, weekends, holidays and summer, food is scarce for these children. In March, 2010, we began by filling 30 bags per week for Jefferson Elementary. It was quickly brought to our attention there was an equal need at other schools as well. Currently, we are delivering meals to children at Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln Elementary, Cannon River Educational Center and the Faribault Middle School. We are now providing 160 meals per week and growing!
Each bag is filled with 2 breakfasts, 2 main entrees, 2 fruit servings and 2 snacks. These bags are discreetly placed in a child’s backpack on the day prior to a school weekend or break. We have had the support of several local sponsors, and we’ve received grant assistance, but the need is growing.
